Is there a silverface or newer (1968 or later) tube rectified (not solid state rectified) Fender combo amp or head with a higher wattage output than the TFL5005 that I can chase down? Thanks for any info in advance. Cheers... ✌️

...and does anyone know if a '79 Pro Reverb (chassis # A9 + 5 digits) is a 40 watt or a 70 watt unit?

A '79 Pro Reverb would be the ultra linear claimed 70 watt version.

Nothing comes to mind with a tube rectifier. All the higher output amps had SS. Always, if I remember correctly. Nothing wrong with that however.

The BMR is a bit wimpy due to its output transformer IMO. The Bassman (BF) OT for 4 ohms and the Super Reverb OT for 2 ohms work great in that chassis. It truly is a Super Reverb when that OT is changed.

SGN, just a question, why do you want tube rectification and increased headroom ?

Hi SurfGreen!

A Super Reverb should give you more "oomph" than a Bandmaster.
Its tube-rectified, but it has a heftier output-transformer, and the 4x10"-speakers move a lot of air!

cheers - C.
