I just want to say that I knew Derek Trucks when he was 13 years old and I never in a million years thought he would be playing next to Clapner.

I didn't realize old Eric had any haters.

I dunno, man.

I think all the drugs he did in the 60s and 70s

messed him up.

I don’t hate Clapner, he’s just not anywhere near as talented as Hendrix.

Sincerely,

kego

I really dig Trucks articulation on slide. Masterful.

That's some wonky vocal effect on Doyle.

Hendrix v Clapton?

Without a doubt, Hendrix is ethereal and a gift to the earth.

Clapton is of the earth, and the very salt of the earth.

Just different.

I'm not a hater, but he's just not my speed, especially in the modern age.

It's extremely competent, don't get me wrong, but, it if leaves you cold, it leaves you cold.

Think the only thing I *love* him on is Waters' "Pros and Cons" - but I've noticed that with a lot of "guitar heroes" I prefer their work *with* someone else versus their solo output.

Like you. Rev, I've never really been a Clapton freak throughout his career. I don't know why...it's just how it is.

His early stuff with The Cream, tho--that's different!

Those are my thoughts as well. Take him or leave him.

And talk about leaving me cold.. I saw Hendrix live.. boring.

"Without a doubt, Hendrix is ethereal and a gift to the earth."

That is not an opinion shared by all.
Talk about leaving me cold.. I saw Hendrix live.. boring.

I own no recordings of either, nor will I.

I’ve liked EC since the beginning and I still do.
Jimi, I like him too.

I like more of Clapton’s music than I do of Jimi’s.

Wow, that's worse than Page.
:^P

I was never terribly impressed by Clapner, even taking that train wreck out of the equation.
