Budg, I'm so sorry to read about your dad's passing.
Reminds me of how numb I was when my dad died of a brain tumor he had first had removed 19 years earlier, but they just did not get it all.

Prayers and condolences.

Condolences, Bud. Looks like you and I may share an anniversary after today. My dad was taken off life-support last night. He was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer just before Christmas and suffered a major stroke on Monday night. Best wishes to you and yours.

Thanks everyone. These times sure are stressful to say the least . I will surely miss the times we had. You don’t realize sometimes until it’s too late how short life is . Langford I am so sorry for your situation .

@Budg... Thanks for the warm thoughts. My old man is hanging on for the moment. Won't be long now, though. Again, all my best to you and yours.

I'm very sorry, Budg. Condolences to you, and your family. I sure hope you're not hard on yourself for being 30 minutes away when he passed. I think many people would start the "what if I just" stuff in their head. It's not fair to yourself. Don't do that. He could just as easily lasted longer. These things are out of our control.

Sorry Langford. It's times like this, where we can show our love and strength.

As hard as it was to watch my Grandpa slowly pass, once it was over, I just wanted to support my Dad, and help him get through it. I hope someone is there for you.

Thanks guys . Sitting here at my hotel room and everything is still kind of surreal. Have to go to see the pastor and talk to him about what kind of person my dad was as he’s doing the funeral. Hard to sum up a persons life up ithout writing a book, especially to a stranger.

Deville I did indeed struggle with being 30 minutes away initially , but come to terms with it. It was apparent my Dad wasn’t aware what was going on anyways , but those are things beyond our control.

I think a lot of times we take for granted our parents impact on our lives as adults , but it is huge. I was glad I was able to have the opportunity to thank my Dad for some of the things he did for me and things he passed down to me. We have calling hrs Friday with the funeral on Saturday .

This place has been a great place of support and knowledge. I have only been here since 2007, but it feels like I’ve been here forever.
