Hi. A friend gave me a Hare Krishna sticker for the back of the headstock of my 335, ala Clapton. I used diluted Elmers glue. The sticker promptly fell off. I guess Elmers needs a porous surface to bond to.

Any suggestions as to what I can use that won't damage the laquer, and be reasonably removable?
Thanks!

School grade rubber cement, use it like contact glue.

It may, I’m not familiar with it, I did search and found some information on it but nothing about removal of cured applications. Mix with water kind of indicates that it should be water soluble, which would be perfect.

Any solvent-based adhesive is usually the death knell for nitro finishes.

I'm not guaranteeing this is safe, but you might try lining the rear of the sticker with 3M Scotch Double-Stik cello tape.

Lay the tape on in parallel strips with the edges just barely touching. Carefully trim the excess tape from around the edges of the sticker, and slap it on there.

Available at any office supply.
