The 2018 ford trucks do it also. Have to buy an aftermarket tuner to turn it off, dealer might if you beg.

Not for me.

Test drove a Jeep that did that. Has an override switch, though.

0.04 percent of the atmosphere is carbon dioxide and plants need it.

But we got to reduce our "carbon footprint"

Our Volvo did that, but also has an override button. Very annoying. However, since a recent massive engine failure and repair (covered under warranty, but still), the thing doesn't work. Problem solved.

No regular gas engines.

Looks like I was wrong, the Ford can be shut off.

We have a 2017 and a 2018 vehicle. Neither does that. Guessing a V8 is exempt.

My 2017 F150 has a button on the dash to disable the auto shut-down so it's easy to change. I was skeptical at first but I'm used to it now. It's always been ready to go when I am. I don't even notice it anymore.

As K4's link confirms, my F150 has the V6 Ecoboost engine.

Every model BMW that has a gasoline engine has that feature. But it's now a global setting to turn it off and stay off for good if you want it that way. I turned it off after trying it out for a few days. Gas mileage does improve at the expense of engine mounts, the starter etc etc.

I was given a Nissan Rogue loaner (2017) when mine was in for service and the Nissan had the feature too.

Rented a jeep once that did that, it was not a hybrid.

So when the engine shuts off, you would have no AC. That would not work for me in traffic jams in the summer, or even stop and go city driving.

I think all the OEMs are incorporating this on all but the largest engines. We don't have it on ours. But everything else we test drove with V6 or 4 cylinder engines had this feature.

It is largely useless around our town. At most lights, etc., we're not stopped very long at all.

And yes, no A/C. On some cars the fan will continue to run at a lower speed until the engine restarts.

When I was young and mostly broke I had a lot of cars that would quit running at stop lights and such... I didn't like it much.

I sure ain't gonn'a pay 50Gs for a new car that does it!!

I don’t like cars that shift for themselves let alone anything else...

It seems modern autos aim to be computers rather than driving machines.
