Hey guys! Hope is everything ok with you all!

I have a 1999 MIM Fender Strat, the guitar is good, I replaces the stock pup's with vintage noiseless, it is sounding great! Thing is, I have a friend that has a 1997 MIA Strat, and everytime I play his guitar I feel that the neck is thinner than mine, and for me it's better, it feels so much smoother for playing and bending. I felt the same way when playing with a 1988 MIA strat as well. It seemed smoother and better to play. I really like the MIM strat's that I've played, but not as much as the american ones. These MIA appears to have a better construction, don't know how to describe it, only who plays can tell, so you can understand for sure. I've found a good deal on Reverb the other day and bought a 1995 MIA strat. I didn't have it yet because it will come to Brazil, but my question is: What can you guys say about this model? Did I made a good deal? I'll sell my MIM as soon as the american arrives.

Peace

MIA Standards are great guitars. I hope the one you bought off Reverb is in good shape and meets your expectations.

ps - You don't say what you paid so I can't say whether you got a good deal or not.

I had an 88 American strat and it has the 12" neck radius. I liked how it played because of that.

I guess this 95 has 9,5" neck radius...same as my MIM. But even Fender saying that both are C shape, they don't have the same feel.

I prefer 9.5" radius fretboards on Strats. I think 12" radius fretboards feel odd on Strats for some reason. I have no problem with flatter radius fretboards on Gibsons and PRS guitars, etc.

That's an excellent price by the way.

'95-'97 American Standards with maple neck fretboards had issues of the finish flaking off on the sides, that is the only real "issue" I am aware of (from experience, too).
