CO2 ... is there anything it can't do?

This was a bad storm.

We lost power Friday evening and it came back overnight last night. Amazing considering the flooding and damage in the area and that the crews couldn't even start restoring power until yesterday due to the continued high winds. Those linesmen are stand up dudes.

I lost a Blue Spruce but it had the good manners to fall without hitting anything important. The big Norway Maple next to the house, on the other hand, dumped a couple of big branches on the roof of my two story Colonial -- I now have two soccer ball sized vents that weren't there before the storm. Luckily, this happened late Friday night after most of the rain was done so I didn't get much in the way of water damage.

I spent all day yesterday clearing the branches off the house. If you are a homeowner and you do your own second story (or higher) work, don't buy cheap ass ladders.

My little Echo 370 chainsaw ran perfectly. I put a new Oregon chain on it and it cut all day without a hitch.

I went back up on the roof today to temporarily patch the holes -- we have another Nor'easter coming in on Wednesday.

At least now I have a lot of new firewood for next year.

Thanks Leftee -- not a big deal. Some plywood and less than a square of shingles. When I get some nice weather, I can knock this out in less than a day.

Lots of friends online losing trees.

there was a news article on tv this morning that the last tree planted by George Washington tipped over in the DC area. 220+ years old
