Hi. Wonder if anyone here has replaced the reverb tank in their Vox AC15C1?
I agree with many that the stock tank is not great. Amazon reviewers seem to like Mod tank 8EB2C1B Equivalent is the one to get. I haven't looked inside yet to see if there is a number on the stock tank.

Any experience? Thanks.

I have no experience with your specific application but can make this general statement. The stock Chinese tanks in the Vox reissues are not that great.

Tanks vary greatly. Rarely do two tanks of the same model by the same manufacturer sound exactly alike. A bit of experimentation is sometimes in order. Fortunately, tanks are cheap enough to allow this. Over all the Mod replacements I've installed have sounded quite good.

I’ve done a couple tanks swaps over the years with varying results from ok to great. In the end, no matter the outcome, they were “successful.”

Give AES (sponsor above) a call and speak with ‘em. They will know the one that’s best for your particular amp.

Good idea. They are cheapest also.

Yeah, a good replacement is surprisingly inexpensive, ~$30 or so.
