It's Black History Month and the Music teacher has a fine presentation of student performances. I have done the backdrop.

Most of the performances honor stars of the Harlem Renaissance. Therefore, I painted a very spare impression of an urban street night. Here are a couple of images of it.

These were done on bulletin paper, which comes in big rolls. I mixed some white and black tempera paint and just hit the highlights.

The couple and car will soon get attached to these skyscrapers. It's all made of paper and is in a high-travel area so I haven't put it all together yet.

In fact, I'm going to do that right now. Show starts pretty soon. More pics to come.

And thank you Kindly, Hammond!

This is a just few hours work. Kind of minimalistic, but I hope the theme and drawing carries it through.

I left a lot of black space near the bottom of the skyline so that the kids would stand out with a minimum of distracting clutter.

This gal sings Gospel at her church. Today our sound guy accidentally cut her music track off too early and she continued to sing in her grey voice. The appreciative audience went bananas! Super fun!
