Sounds like the crap we go through in Quebec with French language laws, language police, and stupid separatist politicians.

I would point at myself and say: "murrican, moron".

I have had very unfortunate business dealings with Quebecers and the Quebec Postal System.

Piney, yes the top line is in English and then the squares below are in several different languages. I would guess that if you don't speak English or Spanish you're going to be SOL.

I had a message on my machine yesterday from the Korean owned cleaner where I had dropped off my full-size comforter.

Thirty seconds of unintelligible babbling later, I had no idea what she was telling me.

I called her direct to get to the bottom of the issue. Sixty seconds of back and forth, half of which was me saying, "what was that again" and still no clue.

I drove down to the shop with my receipt and asked if there was a problem.
She looked exasperated: "I already tell you twice!" True .... sort of.

Turns out she had to launder the comforter twice (cat hair) and so added 5 bucks to the charge.

I'm beginning to have this same problem when I call my medical provider to make an appointment. I always insist that they mail me an appointment card with actual English instructions.

Actually, I think that (here in IL anyways) for health care providers the multilingual card is required by law. This is to allow the health care provider to call in interpretive assistance.
