I quit after many years for the reasons Viera did. I doubt I'll be renewing my membership. Funds are limited these days and there are more important priorities.

In light of recent developments, I renewed for 5 years and changed credit card companies.

"In light of recent developments"

Pinetree, I think it goes without saying that I too was motivated by current events.

Just reluctant to press the topic/discussion in that direction.

I can add: The prices on the link above are the same as the prices on the NRA Membership site this morning.

Lifetime member for many years now.

I have no idea why the NRA is being bashed when 4 cops were there and did nothing

Personally I will not support the companies who have abandoned the NRA

"I don't even put the NRA sticker on my truck because I know I can count on some unhinged SJW to vandalize my vehicle if they see it."

weird, but I never thought of it...I've got 2 NRA decals on my truck....I guess living in the rural deep south has it's advantages...

might have to drop them another check..it's been awhile....and besides I need another NRA hat...

Time for me to re-up my membership, too, in light of recent events in Florida, and some companies' response... 'nuff said.

P.S. AARP would probably like to take away your guns.

IMO the NRA is not being abandoned by certain companies. The companies are concluding at this time that it is in their best interests to let NRA members live their lives without certain fringe benefits that they have provided to members in the past. They are not for members or against members, as they are saying we are not in their respective businesses to have to deal with that certain societal issues.

With all the news regarding companies *cutting ties* ... I'd be interested in knowing the current enthusiasm for the NRA in terms of new membership.

I soured on the org years ago.

When I support anything, it goes to GOA.

That said, I'm a prolific commenter on proposed regulation and contact our senators and reps regularly (they even send me back actual human being letters much of the time!)

I was stunned to learn that the NRA was at one time huge in China. I was skeptical but then looked it up.
Yup, over a million members and even had a Muslim contingent.

National Revolutionary Army

They disbanded in 1945 or so once China began restricting citizen weaponry.

Lifetime member for a few years. I just got survey that they wanted to send to my senators and congresswoman. I started to fill it out, thought about it, then tore it up. I wrote the NRA a $500.00 check and sent it with the enclosed card saying my representatives (Senator Tennis Shoes, Senator Dot-com, and Jamila) don't care but I do.

Life member here.

It doesn't really bother me that they send solicitations for extra money sometimes, I just shrug and toss it.

I will however enter the sweepstakes for the gun giveaways, and send in a contribution, and I'll send a contribution when there's something they are offering that interests me, like cool knives and things.

I get lots of junk mail, so a little extra from the NRA every now and then doesn't upset me like it does some. Just chunk it. Easy.

YMMV
