What is your next big purchase going to be?

A) A new Amp
B) A new guitar
C) Other

I'm starting to warm to the idea of maybe getting a Jeff Beck signature Strat. I haven't bought anything in the last couple years so...

I'm looking at a Santa Cruz at the moment. Used but still a fair sized investment. So yeah, More likely a guitar than an amp. I just build those.

YES to all of them! (:oD

I'm actually trying not to buy a Marshall or Orange 4x12 cab. My lower back says those days are gone, but the rock kid in me says why the hell not! (Also, the lead singer in the 2nd band I'm in promised he'd help cart such a cab around.)

My next purchase is probably going to be an amp kit of some kind. I haven't built an amp in years.

Get something with casters, Mr. Strats.

I'm looking at a polysynth myself.

I'm on a self-imposed gear moratorium.

However I'm in the process of building my next guitar if that counts.

Other than that, I have tinkering around to do on a couple of my other guitars which I don't think will even require buying any parts or hardware.

Hopefully I won't hurt my shoulder patting myself on the back for being a good boy :^)

I've been mulling the idea of building a pedalboard. I've been jonesing for a wah but I don't have room on my current board, which is a cheap Rondo case that I've been using for over 10 years.

Also, thanks to Eric, I'll be scrounging parts for a FrankenTele. :)

C) I'm going to get me some casters. That way I'll have an excuse to get me something BIG later on, like maybe a '59 Bassman. :)

I'm diverting all excess cash to paying off my house this spring. Just mailed a check this morning (March payment+), that brings the balance down to $1,815.21. I'll finish it off in April or May. Until then, I don't even think about it!

"I'm going to get me some casters."
"Rob - Right, casters are a necessity!"

Or, buy an anvil road case with the casters already on them and leave the amp in the bottom section for playing.

I'm going to purchase a amp. Currently, the ones I favor are theMMarshall 40 watt combo with the Creamback speaker from Sweetwater or another Fender Hotrod Deluxe.
I still haven't tried or heard the Bods Katana 100, but the thought of it being an solid state amp and am used to using only tube amps are perplexing as I love the sound and texture of tubes, but with the updated circuitry and flexible routing capabilities, it puts this or the Roland Blues Cube Artist in serious contention of being my next purchase. The only drawback is: I use foot pedals for effects, but have not ever mated them with SS amplifiers and worry that it might sound cheesy and brittle sounding, were as when added to a tubed amp, the sound is glorious and dimensional and not sterile.
This will have to be a trial by fire and then if one of those solid state amps can give me the same feeling and tonal textures that I am so used to, then I would really put one of those amps into my purchasing wants because of the durability that solid state can bring with a possible longer life span. But so far the Marshall is my favorite consideration, because I just love the tube sound and am afraid that anything else would be a compromise! The Roland Blues Cube Artist does seem to be the most desirable of the SS amplifiers because of the basic circuitry and one of the best tube emulations I have heard.
Hmmm!
Ok, amp purchase.

I'm also on a gear break due to financial circumstances:-(

Last major gear purchase was a Taylor 314e almost two years ago:-(

I need to sell some of my 30+ guitars and dozen or so amps before I buy any more.

Scott-s - i played a JB Strat about 20 years ago, and I can confirm that they have *massive* neck. Thicker than any other Strat I've ever played.

5S - when I used to play through full Marshall stacks back in the 80's I rarely got the master volume above 2. They look great, but way too heavy for me these days ;-)

Cal-Woody - I might go for a Boss Katana when my trusty MIII finally dies.

Other than that I'm always lusting after a *really* good acoustic, CS LP, or a top boutique 1 X 12 combo. :-)

It's so easy to default to getting another guitar. There are so many good ones!

But what I really need is a new audio interface. I still have my old MOTU 828 mkII, which I think came out in about 2004.

A friend regularly buys gear and shortly thereafter sells it at a substantial discount. It is always pristine. Today, he offered me a Vox AC15 with the Blue Alnico speaker, cover, and chrome stand. I'm helpless, I'll probably buy it.

I previously bought a special edition DRRI from him for 600 bucks, he'd had it for 3 months at home.

I bought a used Budda 2x12 closed back cab today. It suits my 50 lb weight limit for cabs and combos. (:oD

Sounds like a good compromise 5S

I used to have a Marshall 1936 2x12 cab that wasn't *too* heavy. Leant it to someone and never got it back :-(

Ayns - I do own a Marshall 1936 cab. The Budda is just more "cabbage." (;oD

Sorry your 1936 cab never came home.
