We actually have a Giordano's in Orlando. It's not nearly as good as in Chicago

Itchy, have you tried UNOs? I liked the one in Melbourne, FL and you have a few in your area.

Well, I might have ordered a pile of soggy thawed goo.

I got a notification today that the delivery is delayed. It's stuck in Dallas due to weather.

Just remember two things,

Don't mess with some guy named Leroy

And don't try to pick up the Wife of a jealous man

"Yes woody, I'm a Midway South-sider... not an O'Hare North-sider."

That's a much kinder way of putting it then when I lived there!

"And don't try to pick up the Wife of a jealous man"

Or the daughter of an Irish pipe fitter.

They just showed up, the dry ice was all gone, but according to the temperature probe I put in one of the pizza they were still hovering right above freezing.

Pizza and wine night tonight!

It was really good!

Not as good as what I remember from actually sitting in the restaurant in Chi-town, but really good. Better than any Chicago style attempts from local pizza joints.

My 11 year old son even liked it, and he's super picky about pizza.

I have 3 more in the freezer. Good times!

Our local grocery now has frozen pizza from Gino's East. I don't know enough to have a favorite Chicago pizza company, and frozen may not be as good as fresh, but I bought one yesterday and am looking forward to eating it.

Are you familiar with a pizzeria called Nancy's? One recently opened not far from us. It appears to be a chain that originated in Chicago. I'll try it anyway, but would like to know what to expect.

Gino's is very good fresh, I don't know about the frozen.

I liked Nancy's but I haven't had one in years.

My favorite grocery frozen pizza these days is "Home Run Inn".

Nancy's was where I first had stuffed pizza. (The one in Norridge I think, on Harlem.) They served us beer in high school which is why we went there in the first place. Still like it---one near my mom's house in Park Ridge---but my favorite is Edwardo's which only has a few locations left.

Giordano's is decent but it can be cakey. I worked at Giordano's in Champaign, IL during college and learned how to make stuffed pizzas there.

Love Gino's and Uno's. Completely different from stuffed pizza. Also eat Lou Malnati's and Pizano's from time to time. Very similar to each other.

That's just scratching the surface. Many exceptional thin crust places around the city/suburbs. And now Bonci just opened in the West Loop, their only location outside of Rome.

We have two exceptional wood fired pizza places now in the western ‘burbs - Fiamme in Naperville, and Neo in St. Charles. Kinda the polar opposites of Giardano’s, Uno, Lou’s and the like though.

HD, my wife works in St. Charles in hospice care.

I'll have to meet her for dinner at Neo. You guys have some great restaurants in your area.
