I recently acquired a used Friedman BE OD pedal to get hard rock and metal tones for this band I recently joined (I'm still doing my other project too).

The "Brown Eye" is not an OD pedal, but rather a distortion pedal. With the gain dialed way back, you can get some cool classic rock tones.

Turn up the gain and you're into classic metal sounds and then into modern metal. Thankfully, the BE OD also sounds good using single coils. If you're into HSS Strats like me, you can go from Hendrix/SRV to EVH/Satriani style tones with a flick of the 5-way switch.

This is NOT a Tubescreamer clone or a Klone clone. It's NOT a Dumble-style box either. You have been warned! (;oD

It's all gravy from here on...

Friedman makes some nice stuff. I'd be persuaded to go that way if I needed higher gain. As it is, a real Tubescreamer and a real Klon do well for me in addition to several clones.

I still have a "real" OD pedal on my pedalboard that I used for my other band.

A studio owner/producer and close friend of mine has the Friedman amp software and it sounds excellent.

Plausible Deniability Is all I need

My Brother in law has a BE-100 and it sounds really good. Still Prefer my Bogner
