Magnificent ceremony. An inspiration for peace. Really enjoyed seeing all of the athletes from around the world as they came in smiling and happy.

A message for peace which included a magnificent tribute to John Lennon.

It was refreshing in the non-reliance of digital technology for the most part. Kind an organic performance.

^ Tee hee.

Pleasant visuals and always great to see a bevy of healthy young athletes. Not a fan of Katie Couric (co-host of the US broadcast) who simply will NOT shut up and allow the wonder to unfold.

When does Katie return to New York?

I'm wondering if drones will replace 4th of July fireworks?

Listening beats seeing him. He looks scary after that facelift.

“What you’re seeing on TV is not what the people in the stadium are seeing. It is computer-generated enhanced reality.”

Okay. The actual ceremony was on a little league field with bleachers? Oy.

"I, for one (apparently), like Bob."

I used to like him but when he got on his soapbox and started lecturing about his politics, I lost respect for him....

Woops, apparently one of the NBC news crew spoke twisting history on camera which was a big NO NO which Katie failed to correct and one of them was fired. Can you guess which one? Hint, Katie is still walking around with corporate plastic.

I will give NBC credit for providing us with live coverage, staying with an event instead of hoping around leaving us to wait until the wee hours of the morning to see a recorded version an event that ended hours earlier and best of all super camera work. I'm now into short track relay...whoa nelly!

Truthfully, there was no twisting of history.

The guy was fired as a public relations move because there’s still bad blood in the ROK over the Japanese occupation in WWII. Associating ROK economic success with Japanese influence later on (as he did on live TV) is a sensitive topic.

It is what it is. We just don’t talk about it.

Did Katie Couric REALLY say that the reason the Dutch are such great speed skaters is that skating is an "important mode of transport"in that country?

The canals freeze up in winter, and people ice skate around town.

The 15km Biathlon last night was fantastic. Those guys are very impressive athletes. Came down to hundredths of a second. Best competition yet.

Biathlon results
