I was reminded that everyone is a snowflake.

“I’m tired of businesses telling me how to think.”

It’s marketing. Everyone including churches and governments does it. If you control how people think, you control how they act.

From the two I watched on YouTube, I learned that well-paid ad writers who think they're witty and creative...

aren't.

I learned that Anheuser Busch not only pays for it's Bud commercials it pays extra for exclusive rights so that there are no competitors.

If you saw a commercial for Yellow Tail wine, it was local not national.

Anheuser Busch has no competitors, impossible to make a beer that bad.

Bud is made with rice.. yup rice.
Only the Japanese have successfully made beer from rice.

I watched..one.

It was the first relatively honest "you ain't gonna be pushing papers in Nebraska in many cases" recruiting ad I've seen in a while for the Marines.

mildly entertaining, hope not to have to see it again. Does anyone even remember the bank's name?

Oh yeah, I bought one of those Stella Atois beer chalices. Seemed like a win-win situation, with the pledge of 5 years of clean water for some needy folk.

Actually, if you're from Minnesota, the RAM truck commercial - showing the Vikings coming to the game, then turning around when they find out whose playing - is bittersweet, but also funny!

You have to laugh or you'll cry...

The shorter version (which you linked) was confusing, as the screen simply read "Tonight's Matchup".

The longer version explains it a little better.

That is the first--and only Super Bowl commercial I saw this year. Yes, I am a long suffering Vikings fan. I thought the commercial was awesome!

Thanks for explaining that Viking commercial.
I saw it, but it wasn’t obvious to me what was going on.

Being of Viking heritage, I was offended by that commercial.

I urge all of proud Viking lineage to take offense, boycott Dodge trucks, and take up Being Sensitive and Offended by Commercial Exploitation of Norsemen as an official crusade—or at least a hobby.

This includes vilification of the comic strip Hagar the Horrible, which was really Beetle Bailey in animal skins and helmets with horns on them.

The horror.

Thanks, Piney, the long version is much better.

I didn't get the Vikings connection in the first one. Maybe because I was too busy shoveling 10-layer dip into my mouth.

Nobody has mentioned the coolest commercial yet, which means it may have not made much of an impact, but I thought that Jeep kept it simple and classy and knocked it out of the park.

I like the Jeep commercial!

However, note the disclaimer: Man-made lake and waterfall.

Hmmmm, what if it were a muddier lake and more slippery waterfall?
I'm sure it could still make it :-).

Years ago I was offered a CJ-5 cjeap.. good shape.. needed a real motor.. I had a 4 bolt 350 and all the stuff to convert.

Went to my local 4by shop and asked about completed the conversion and what did they have that would help me along.
They said "Don't waste your money"
Me: "Why"?
Them: "It's a JEEP"

Then I recalled I owned a mint CJ8 30K miles .. all original. It was was a total POS compared to my 58,61,64,67,74 Land Rovers and my 1969 FJ...

I did own a 1951 JEEP pickup.. good unit.

That commercial was as pretentious and comical and as phony as the JEEP itself. A cartoon. My learned opinion.
