Considering picking up a pair. Apple's AirPods are pretty costly. Anyone know of ones that are good quality but maybe not so expensive?

Or do they all suck and I shouldn't bother?

I'm looking at this currently also but I don't have any recommendation. I'll be interested in the suggestions.

Realizing I may have asked this in the wrong forum, as you can’t wear wireless ear buds with hearing aids.

Thankfully I have my browser set to large print so I can read your snarky remarks. :-P

I just bought a $50 set of JVC from Walmart, Its great for making and receiving phone calls and listening to talk radio but music really really sucks!!!
Quite a few guys in the shop have the blue tooth muffs for listening to music only and they sound great.

The wired Apple ear buds that came with my iPhone 7 had bad fidelity if you ask me. As far as I can tell most of the buds are going have inferior sound quality to on-ear or over-the-ear real headphones.

Wireless just adds another layer of badness to the fidelity chain.

My 2 cents anyway. I"m sticking with real wired headphones.

I guess if you make a lot of phone calls the wireless could come in handy for that. With the Apple wireless you just double tap the bud and it answers the phone.

I just want something I can travel with and not have to worry about untangling cords. I’m not sure about the battery life. I’d love to throw them in my briefcase but I assume they’d be dead when I went to use them (very infrequently).

I remembered I had a Best Buy gift card, so I bought the Apple ones. I’ll report back when they arrive.

I've tried a bunch and the biggest problem is mechanical noise when you bump the cord or wind noise. I also had a hard time finding buds that would stay in. My main use is to listen to music or audio books when bike riding. The Sony sports ear buds linked are the best ones I've found so far. No wind noise and they stay in place great. They are not cheap, but worth every penny.

I have the Bose Soundsport wireless. They sound great but battery life is around 3 hours only.

There's a new set by Sennheiser that looks like it hits a sweet spot with value/performance. It's called the CX 6.0BT. I'm currently considering the HD-1 Free though for better performance.

I prefer the type with a cord that connects the two buds. I use a clip to clip it to the back of my collar. I'd lose the type that are completely wire-free.

I changed over to wireless buds about 6 months ago.
Went with the Focal Spark wireless.

They don't do any kind of noise cancellation (I didn't want all that extra processing).

Just under $100. I changed from Shure se215's.

I really like the Focals and would buy again.

OK, so I tried two pairs, one no-name copy from Amazon ($39.99), and the actual Apple AirPods ($159.99).

The Amazon ones were returned. One side didn't work at all, the other side sounded like absolute garbage.

The same cannot be said, however, for the AirPods. Crisp, clean sound, way better than the standard Apple wired earbuds. They were, as I stated at the outset, more money than I wanted to spend, but they were exactly what I needed.

And they arrived in plenty of time for vacation on the 18th.

It sounds great, that’s how Itested them. Better than the wired Apple buds.

They arrived at 80% battery capacity, and I’m charging them fully. I probably won’t get them fully Road tested unti my February 18 flight, but I’ll report back.

From what I understand, the case holds a charge and you can charge the buds several times per each full charge of the case. Very interesting. When you open the case, the battery level of the buds and the case show separately on the screen of your phone.

I had been doing wired earbuds for 7 or 8 years and realized no matter what eventually they get snagged and one side goes. I spent anywhere from 50-150. Probably 8-10 sets in all those years listening too at least a couple of hrs music each day.

Now on my 4th set of Bluetooth looking for the right set. Latest and greatest are Senso. A whopping 30 bucks on Amazon. Great sound 6-8 hr bat life. Stay in your ear.
