His wife (can't remember her name) played in Lubbock about a year ago and used one of my Princeton Reverb amps for her show.
I think Jason is a decent performer.

the sweeter the music.

You are in for a special treat !

They are absolutely brilliant.

Amanda's got a lot to do with his sobriety, so huge props to her for helping to rescue him from the demons that chased him.

He's certainly one of the best songwriters out there these days.

"Anxiety" of their latest album "The Nashville Sound" is wonderful.

Also "If We Were Vampires" is very introspective.

Enjoy !

They play "Vampires" at the end of this short session. I had the same reaction as the interviewer and Jason Isbell. Very powerful stuff.

If you want to prep for the show:

"Jason Isbell - Live at Austin City Limits"

A video concert at, well, you know where.

Superb.

Circa 2014

All the songs are exceptional, but "Elephant", "Alabama Pines", "Outfit", and "Stockholm" are the standouts.

"Elephant"

This is a tough one to read the words as you listen to the song.

Some of you know where I work.

As one reviewer wrote:

"I can't listen to this at work. People find a grown man sitting at his desk weeping to be very disturbing´╗┐"

I get it and it hits me hard every time, and yet I need to keep coming back to it.

It's comforting in an odd way.

Sorry for the buzzkill !!!

Hope the show kicked ass as I know it will.

He's a master wordsmith with a perfect band.

Close your eyes and listen to the stories he tells.

For friends taken and friends currently dancing with the elephant.

Great show, sold out 1900 seat venue. I was late getting tickets back in October, and I was getting 6 for a group, so we ended up in the 2nd balcony. Good sound mix, the 400 Unit are awesome. The audience sang "Happy Birthday" as his was the day before, February 2. He couldn't hear it, though, so Amanda Shires had to pull out his in ear monitor.

Super guitar interplay.

If you get a chance, catch him. He's on fire.
