Mine is a Boss GE-7, I've used it for this purpose on several different amps over the years, and I've always had a great result. Right now with my little 20W Marshall, it is a killer boost for the clean channel. Actually, both channels. As good as if not better than many OD pedals I've tried.
I did some sort of mod to it years ago, but I think it was just changing the red light to a brighter blue one, which I prefer. Otherwise, pretty sure the pedal is stock.
Being able to shape your tone with it is the added plus. Use it in front of your amp that's set for slight break up, and it's a great solo boost!

What's everyone else using for a boost?

A recent acquisition. Works great.

Barber Tonepress.

The blend knob allows the amount of compression and sustain that I can dial-in to the dry signal, but I use it mostly to add volume and sustain.

Also a GE7 but with the Monte Allums mods to make it quieter. I found the stock model a bit hissy.

I practice through three setups with post compressor pedals set for clean/transparent boost. System 1 boost is a Keeley Oxblood Paisley, System 2 boost is Keeley-modded VL Sparkle Drive. System 3 boost is an Earthquaker Westwood.

Got a TC Spark Boost mini in December. Great little unit!

Don't know why I never looked into using a clean boost but, I can thank the FDP players for the heads Up!

Right after I bought the TC a friend who worked at that music store told me that in my Helix update they had included a boost.
It was modeled after the xotic EP booster from what I was told and it does sound close.

My clean boost is a home made BS170 MOSFET design that I found on the internet, with a few tweaks that I added.

Any fans of the Fulltone FB-3 Fat-Boost? Local guy's selling one for $65, I've considered checking it out...

My favorite is the Xotic RC Booster. But I also get great results with my OCD as well as either of my compressors with blend knobs (Barber TonePress or Xotic SP).

Donner Boost Killer (Xotic RC Boost clone). Or a MOSFET Boost.

"Donner Boost Killer"

Ah yes, forgot about that one!
Got it back in October. I have it on my new mini pedal pedalboard. It's a great little boost. (especially for like 22 US bucks!)

If I want a boost, I just flip the switch on the Space Echo to a higher output setting. ;)

Trying out a new project and I demo'd the GE-7 as a boost on the clean channel last weekend. The bass player, who is also a guitar player, was amazed! He had never heard of using the GE-7 in that manner, and was also very surprised at how well it works.

Recently a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster. Also a Soul Food with gain low.

archiestone : Just put my Fat-Boost 3 back on the board and loving it again. $65 go for it. I also have a EP Boost at the very end to give a little extra going into the amp, only set to 9 oclock and the nice ttone the EP Boost adds.

+1 on the Duncan Pickup Booster. Construction is a bit light, but it adds a really great resonance and skronk to strats & teles.

‘Skronk’ = highly technical term
