This topic has most likely been covered, at least in bits & pieces in various threads. I'm starting this thread because I see many numerous many Squier Strat models during my frequent check-the-local-pawnshops visits.
I pulled the following info, which might be incorrect and/or incomplete, from a variety sources. Hopefully this info will be useful to the folks like me who pretty much need to see the Classic Vibe sticker.
Headstock (small standard, not the large CBS shape), front:
--Squier Stratocaster
by Fender.
[No model, such as Bullet, Affinity, etc. on the HS]
--Squier is written in gold lettering (???).
Headstock, back:
Designed and backed by Fender
Crafted in China
CGSxxxxxxx [serial number example CGS1234567]
[on another forum someone posted the letters could be CGR, G-L. Which puzzles me ???]
Neck finish:
The gloss is tinted (to give it a vintage look I'm guessing).
Any confirmations, corrections, additional information, constructive criticism, etc. will be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Just look at Sweetwater etc.
It'll be illustrative.
The 60s models have no skunk stripe, whereas other Squiers generally do on RW boards.

Complete specifications and pictures with hover/zoom at the link. There's a similar page for the CV '50s.

The visuals are useful, thanks.
I'm attempting to put the what-to-look-for in a convenient package, so to say. I've spent a fair amount of time studying the CV info & images on the Fender site, but I'm a reader so I tend to like things written and spelled out 1, 2, 3, etc.
Written word + the visuals = helps me remember.

Then make sure to click on the 'specs' button at the link I gave.

Squier: no skunk stripe and RW neck: if it's a Jazzmaster, it's a Mascis. If not, a Classic Vibe.
Past that, the back of the headstock is going to tell you more than anything.
The gold logo is NO indicator - it's on the VMs and some things going back to the original MIJ guitars, and some MIMs, and some Koreans...etc..

That's what I read, so I used (???) re the gold lettering.
Good info, all.
