My Reverend Drivetrain II is one of the best sounding OD pedals I've ever used. Only knock is it does not play well with other pedals. But on it's own it's magic.

It's funny how that happens. I don't know enough about pedal electronics (or electronics in general actually) to know why that is.

Some are winning combinations, other sound horrible together.

Yep. Shame that this incredible pedal falls into that camp. Put a tubescreamer type od pedal in front of it as a lead booster and you get mush. Sounds like the DT input stage is clipping. Put an OD or dist pedal after it and it's WAY too loud. I tried everything I could but in the end it wasn't working for me on my board. I like to stack pedals so the DT II got banished to its box on the work bench shelf. 😢
