Supposed to be at NAMM.

I would probably get one if I ever saw one.

Just because it is so unbelievable.

Just another gimmick by Fender to sell more guitars. I don't blame them, really, but I don't think this one will last long.

Hmmm Can you say "Swinger," Musiclander" and "Maverick?"

The concept is good, but the execution is hideous. Especially the control plate: it flows opposite to the curves of the body.

Reminds me of those early Music Man guitar and bass control plates that looked like an efterthought. They made the instruments appear to be a product of the following design process:

The engineers decided to use a chromed control plate. They looked around the shop and one of 'em said, "I found a box of plates. Let's use these."

The first true parts-o-casters

Yes it is a pity bout the control plate withe the input jack not matching the curve of the body.

Would it be possible to just flip it over ?

With the appropriate routing of course.

Hideous rendition of two classics. If they wanted to do this they should have kept the offset body and used the switch plate from the bass six. That thing looks pretty sad IMO. Fugly.

If they wanted to make a good looking surfy Strat shaped guitar they should have used a standard Strat layout and put three Jazzmaster PUs in it and brought back the Fender/Floyd Rose locking bridge from the Plus Deluxe Ultra.

Perhaps they will next year.

After the wide and strange range of models they have brought in the last few years it would no longer be a surprise.

I don't mind the general idea. Bit did you see the prices? These aren't the funky imports of a few years ago. They're $2k.

Yea, I saw the prices and laughed.

And yet, still cheaper than a proper-spec MIA Jaguar or Jazzmaster!

Add a clunky headstock, and in a dark alley you’d think it was a Burns Bison.

I find the concept interesting, the execution poor, the price outlandish.

I'd like to have seen something like Shigeo Naka's or Dave Wronski's wacko Strat/Jags.

Naka's
