I'm not good at identifying shades of colors, but I don't think it is Sonic, Daphne or LP Blue.

It looks closest to daphne to me, but with a bit of pearl sheen.

That bass is Lake Placid Blue. If your monitor lends you to think it's Daphne, it's out of calibration.

The blues and greens that available were Lake Placid Blue, Sherwood Green and Ocean Turquoise.

A quick search shows the colors available were: Lake Placid Blue, Montego Black, Sherwood Green Metallic, and Burgundy Mist. In 2008 colors were: Ocean Turquoise, Red Sparkle and Black with Matching Headstock. It was discontinued in 2010.

Better image?

Danny, those are the US colors, and your picture is a US model. I've been unable to find a color list for the MIM Standards, which don't have a P pickup in the middle. FWIW, Wiki says were discontinued in 1999. I am reasonably sure that the MIM Standard colors were not the same as, and probably more basic than, the US colors. I have seen black and a blue like the one in the OP in person, and pictures of reds, whites, and some blues that look like the OP and some that look like LP Blue. The one in my pic is not the one I have seen, but I chose that pic because it looks like that color.

Fading or a factory change in the shade of blue Fender used could explain the difference, but I have no idea how likely either of those might be.

You maybe be right. However, the bass in the picture is LPB. Faded or not, monitors or not, the color pictured is LPB. As to other colors, the sky's the limit I suppose?

Undoubtedly Burgundy Mist. Certainly looks 'Metallic Pink' from here? ;o)

PS: Stu Hamm had some in quite a few colors. A Gold Metallic was one. Good looking bass. As Fender was clearing out the basses, other colors could have been used. I have seen sunburst.

I ran into a Burgundy Mist at a guitar show a few years ago. It played well and the guy offered me a decent deal, but I couldn't get past the color.

Danny was right. It finally occurred to me to contact Fender's Customer Service Department, which quickly provided information about this model. The colors listed are:
(802) Lake Placid Blue,
(806) Black,
(825) Crimson Red Metallic,
(880) Arctic White
(Polyester Finish)

I still think the one I have seen and the one in the OP pic look lighter than LP Blue, but don't know how or why that might be.

There was a 'Maui Blue' for a short time, around 1980. Great hue. Wish they'd bring it

back.

That's an interesting color, archiestone. I don't think I've ever seen it. That might be because I was in a never playing again phase around that time.

Rick, sometimes the formulations don't come out right. IME this is particularly true with foreign-made instruments.

The best example is the Strat XIIs they made about 10-15 years ago. The LPB on those looks like a bright turquoise (not OT) in person but was listed as Lake Placid Blue.

Image grabbed from Google.

Thanks, BrentD. That is a possibility that had not occurred to me.
