Yea, if UPS and FEDEX were mandated by Congress to deliver bulk mail, they would have some issues too.

I've got an issue going on now where I shipped a small 5"x8"x1" package from Texas to Torrence California. Mailed on the 2nd supposed to arrive on the 5th. It arrived in LA and then for some reason they sent it to Santa Clara. Now it's "delayed". No updates on tracking since the 8th when it says in transit to destination. Doubt if it will ever get there.

Henry, this was shipped after the holidays. Yes, I'm aware things slow down during the season, but never to this degree. Maybe a couple of extra days, not weeks.

1600, I'm having a similar issue with UPS. Ordered something on December 22. Due to be delivered December 28. Tracking number showed it in my town. Two days later, the package went back east with no explanation from UPS other than claiming a sorting issue. Now, it's due tomorrow, January 11, a full two weeks after the original delivery date.

I always have something on the way via usps and have not experienced any delays, at times the item will make an extra stop at a depot between here and there but I still get things when expected. The only issue I have is sometimes it gets here at 2 and sometimes 7pm.

Holiday stuff is always dicey.

I've had issues with holiday shipping via mail, UPS, FedEx, etc every year since moving in here (not related to the address, just an easy to keep track of metric, as my life changed enough to make it a milestone of sorts) six years ago.

Got it today. Shipped on the 2nd. Tracking shows it arrived in Jacksonville yesterday, relayed to Ocala overnight, out for delivery and actually delivered today. That's a lot of dark time between Ft. Wayne In. and Jacksonville.

FedEx doesn't exactly offer speed-demon service either: I ordered a small item from Virginia which was received there in the a.m. by FedEx 4 days ago. So far, tracking indicates that it's only managed to get as far as West Virginia, presumably transported by a child furiously peddling a tricycle.

The "scheduled delivery date" has twice been pushed further (all together by a week, now) into the future since I started tracking it.

I presume the Xmas log jam has been cleared out by now, so that excuse should no longer apply.

I hate to be that guy -- but USPS delivered two of my orders today -- on time -- in the middle of a snowstorm.

Full disclosure -- she got stuck in the snow and I had to push her out. I didn't mind, I was out shoveling snow anyway.

Follow up to my post on January 10th. I had to file a claim and the package was finally delivered on the 16th. 11 days after the promised delivery date. At least they didn't totally lose it but if I had not filed a claim it probably would have sat wherever it was for eterinity.

My above-mentioned Fed-Ex package has so far taken 5 days to go 340 miles. "Scheduled Delivery" date has been revised for the forth time now and is 8 days later than the original.

My wife ordered something through Amazon on Monday, paid extra for overnight delivery.

We're told it'll be here tomorrow.

It appears all delivery services are struggling to keep up.
