Don't know which is more badass, the guitar or the playing...

Based on the Acoustic (Mosrite?) Black Widow, from circa 1970. Jimi had one. Semi-hollow, bolt-on, with a Fender scale length.

I want.

That's very cool.

I like the stutter thing he does with the pickup switch.

From time to time the originals come up for sale on eBay or Reverb ~$1K. Most hover around $1.5K.
The Eastwood I'm interested in since it's a set neck. The originals had a bolt on neck and that Gretsch padded cushion on the back.

"The originals had a bolt on neck..."

Did not know that... might make the copy better than the original, which isn't usually the case. (Of course, I don't know how good/unique/special the original pickups were, etc. ...)

daveg, thanks for clarifying about the neck join. I was thinking of the original. Yup, a set neck makes it even more attractive, and makes more sense at the price.

Here's Roy Clark on a one-off Mosrite Celebrity 12.

Few mortals dared to attempt classical finger vibrato on a 12.

Roy could easily do it. He's a bad mamma-jamma.

Does anyone know what song RJ is playing in the beginning of the video?

The riff and progression sounds familiar, but I don't listen to much radio. (or music outside of my bubble)

Sad I know...

It's been driving me nuts too, Mick. I know the song...it's by a UK band...early 80's/late 70's...

Not enough brain cells left to pull it out, I'm afraid...

The only spec on this thing that scares me off a little is the 1 5/8" nut - that's pretty small these days. Anyone know how fat or thin the neck is? If it's not too thin, I could probably handle it...

I recognize it also, but is it really that old? I was thinking maybe early 90's....but then, time flies when you're havin' fun! ;)

"I recognize it also, but is it really that old?"

I think it's way more current than that. Like past few years maybe?

Don't go kicking any photographers in the face, now...

Anyone else notice RJ's playing a few pedals through a Quilter Toneblock 200? Killer tone.

Aha!...Thanks Peegoo

Well, aside from the nationality of the band...and the decade...I was close! Funny how the brain wires cross...

More evidence for the widely held theory that Peegoo knows everything...
