Sunny and reaching the mid-30's before it will cool off. That's warm here at this time of year.

Chilly is what's going on back east.

This cold should be happening in mid to late January.
We'll see what happens then. I hate it.

I agree with the Professor, woke up to 5 below in Northern Michigan. That's usually late January temps. IIRC we never made it to below zero at all last year, if we did it was brief.

It is pretty cold here near Annapolis. 20F, but it feels like 3F.

Same for several nearby cities, according to Weather-dot-com.

Boston, MA: 12F, but it feels like -4F
Baltimore, MD: 24F, but it feels like 2F
Syracuse, NY: 8F, but it feels like -7F
Washington, DC: 23F, but it feels like -1F

Everyone wants to be all feely these days.

Knowing what it "feels like" is not useful information, because if it's 38F and it feels like 23F, guess what? Water still won't freeze outside. Unless you put the thermometer on a treadmill, of course.

Enough of that hippie mess, already :o|

Wind chill is very real up here.
I'll take -40C and no wind over -25C with wind.

Last year on New Year's Day we had about 2 feet of snow in So Oregon...

The High today was 48F and that will be a repeat tomorrow with a possibility of light showers later in the day.

The town is virtually empty given the dope growers are all in the Carribbean banking their illicit gains. Peacful for once.

7° here just outside of Philly, looking to drop one more degree overnight. It's been a rough stretch of cold here, and not over yet. Next Saturdays high is forecast as 12°.
