Mine will be mundane and uneventful. My wife's sister has been visiting for a few days and we'll all be staying home.

We'll have a nice dinner and munch on some Lone Star Caviar. They'll watch their favorinte series and I'll do some reading.

Better than being out amongst the insanity. A real geezer evening.

And you?

Stay home, watch shows we've recorded, eat the pizza we allow ourselves four times a year, retire before 10:00 PM.

Next morning, NOT watch the Rose Parade, read about those killed by drunk drivers during the night.

Get smashed, stay up past midnight, hoot and holler with a bunch of like-minded idiots in the bar, and hopefully make it home safely without getting pulled over.

Like any other night, really.

safe and sound at home with just the wife and a bad cold we have been sharing.

I have a 14yr scotch (Glenfiddich) at the ready. See whats to stream and sit in front of the fire

I have found out that thinking about playing out on NYE is far better than actually playing out on NYE.

Its a young mans game and its also amateur nite
no thanks!

An early evening here - just a few family members for fondue, and back home early.

Seriously...we don't stay up late and watch them drop Dick Clark from the tower in Times Square on TV.

We'll have dinner and relax at home. Waymore fun.

We should have been leaving about now for a NYE gig but had to give notice of cancellation about ten days ago due to my wife/our singer contracting labyrinthitis (very nasty). Allie`s still feeling sick and dizzy most of the time so we have no plans for tonight. She can`t even drink alcohol due to the medication. Thus an open fire, some food and Netflix, TV later (including a BBC Chic live special). Probably stay up late regardless.

Started already... Got up at 4 am, got in a walk and some laps in the pool. Wasted time on FB until I wandered over here to FDP. I rarely get time off from freelance and my duties at the newspaper, so I am milking it. Thinking about making some beef enchiladas and having a beer before a noontime snooze. Mrs. Lonesome is in a similar frame of mind, hopefully there are no merch return lines on her mind.

Well, Queenie is still in Tucson, so I'll hang out here at home. Likely won't be awake when the clock passes midnight.

I quit alcohol about four years ago, so there won't be any of that going on.

It actually isn't much different than it would be if Queenie were here ;)

Golf, tee off at my local course in a little over an hour with 3 longtime buddies. First time playing in over 3 months. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm just getting over nasty chest cold/virus that wiped me out the past week.

Happy New Years to all!

I haven't seem midnight on NYE since 2000 -- if the world was coming to an end I wanted to be awake for it.

I plan to be napping on the couch by 9PM.

We probably won’t stay up. Just a nice dinner and a movie.

I’m still recovering from my vitamin D deficiency so it’s been slow and easy going around here.

In Dublin fulfilling an item on my bucket list. Visited Phil Lynotts burial site as well as one of his residences where his mom Philomena currently lives. Leaving soon to spend the night in a pub listening to trad music and partaking in the tall blonde in the black dress. Slainte!

I’ll also be asleep, NLT 11:15. The only thing I’m interested in at Times Square is seeing the design of the 2018 costume eyewear — what numbers are wearers are looking through, etc. (It was an easy/no-brainer for years 2000-2009.). It’s going to be tricky and still have glasses that sit / appear centered on the face.

We are walking two blocks to party with Jimmy Buffett and Huey Lewis. Never seen Lewis, have not seen Buffett for thirty something years, light entertainment and much alcohol, should be fun.
