My mother - "Why should next year be any better than last year".

Her mother - "I wonder who's going to die this year".

We tend not to go big on new year's eve.

About to take the dog on a hike, and then home to a nice dinner and a bottle or two of wine. Maybe a few episodes of Longmire (we're up to season 6), and then fast asleep by 10:30 or so.

I'm nursing a smashed face, caught a wind-blown recycle bin door with it yesterday down at the recycle center.

And am worried about my daughter back in Omaha. High temperature of -3 today, down to -18 tonight. Hope she stays home, or at least finds some place to hole up and stays there.

Sorry to hear about your mug, Ragtop.

Menu plans tonight are chicken cacciatore and pasta. The Mrs goes a little heavy on the bell peppers which makes it extra tangy.

I hope y'all and your loved ones have a safe New Year.

Not to change the subject, but why lose the ability to post here, Laker? Gonna spend 30 bucks on something soon enough, why not a CM?

Beck's Beer and trips to the garage, carefully keeping my eye on the Twilight Zone Marathon offerings for those gems I've not seen yet. It's actually cold enough in Austin to build a far! (fire)

Happy New Year's everyone!

Honestly, one cannot lose the ability to post here (unless you get banned for conduct), one can only choose not to do it. I guess it’s possible some people can’t afford $30 a year, but if so, you have far greater issues than not being able to post in Moe’s.

Well, since we woke up about 4:00 this morning for no apparent reason (geezer alert!) I suspect we’ll fade out around 9 or 10 tonight and (hopefully) sleep through the hoopla - and pray we don’t catch a stray round from the midnight shooters.

Steaks, salad, craft brew, and a movie at home with my wife and son.

At about 11pm we'll open a bottle of Prosecco, and probably be in bed by 12:30.

Breakfast at our usual local dive.

Worked on my bail out house from 10:00 to 3:00 PM.

Afternoon snacks, adult beverages and conversation with our old friends and next door neighbors at out bail out house.

Now home..
Shrimp pasta carbonara for dinner with a tossed green and red and orange salad.

Perhaps some Proseco later while watching the ball drop at 9:00 PM PST...

If able to stay awake watch another episode of "Frost".. ( Brit detective video)

New Years day.. work on bail out house.
