Just having a whinge

but crikey yesterday was the first day in my life that I could understand why some of you blokes say they feel old, not just socially but physically.

And I have done nothing strenuous for the last few days

All the day one foot hurt, both knees ached, finger joints were sore, both shoulders were sore, felt uncomfortable sitting for any length of time.

There are lots of people worse off of course but just having a whinge always makes things better doesn't it.

No it doesn't.

But anyway thanks for listening :)

Wait til you hit MY age (69). Makes me glad I've taken pretty good care of myself (regular vigorous exercise, decent diet, moderation r.e. recreational substances) all my life. Had I done otherwise, I'd guess I'd feel even more decrepit by now.

Of course, some of it is likely the result of the genetic crap shoot and what sort of environmental stuff a person has been exposed to.

A gradually degradation of quality of life is inevitable for all of us, I guess. So ya just hafta consider the alternative and try not to whimper and whine too much.

I'm now 67 and while not in as good shape as I should be, I have relatively few aches and pains and I suspect a little more exercise might mitigate those.

When I was in my 50s I had two detached retinas and a heart attack. Things got better in my 60s, until last year when I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins follicular b-cell lymphoma. Six months of monthly rounds of chemo and I was pronounce all clear.

Yesterday I had a CT Scan to make sure there is no recurrence. Results next week.

We enter the age of the organ recital. The age where old friends get together & recite all of their heart, lung, kidney, prostate, etc problems.

I ran into a friend at the grocery store the other day and had to cut the conversation after ailments and treatments started taking it over. I can't stand that part of getting old.

Be that as it may, your hard work keeping this place running and your good company here are certainly still appreciated, FWIW.
