Check out my thread in the guitar mods forum. I bought one out of there last night.

"If I need to spend $300 for a neck, maybe I'd take my chances on this (Leftee posted earlier)..."

Not to discourage you from modding the Carvin, but I can vouch for the quality and value-for-money of the G&L Tributes.

They're MII and very well made. I own a Fallout and had a S-500 (regret that sale now).

The mod with the neck is your most economical, but thought I'd throw out my opinion on the "new guitar" option. (ie: enable)

FTW re: "...experience with a compound radius neck?"

Mine (Warmoth 10-16") didn't take any adjusting to and didn't really feel any different than standard radius to me, but I'm NOT a shredder that would really be working a lot in the 16" neighbourhood...

Thanks, Mick! I would jump on the G&L but I'm just not a fan of the blueburst.

If my new neck works out there will be a free neck coming your way if you want it. :-)

Happy new year!

Yeah, if this neck works on the guitar I’m thinking about I’ll have a spare neck. I don’t need to keep that around.

It's a generous offer either way. :o)

I'm thinking rosewood for the Carvin. I'm not sure how maple would look with the tung oil finish.

I’ve got a maple neck on a tung oiled body.
