It was 12 degrees here this morning in the Texas panhandle. Everything was all frosty outside. I am so glad I am retired and do not have to go out in it unless I want to.

I can confirm that the saying concerning witch anatomy temperature is not accurate, at least for the more modern witches.

After moving to Fla I had a number of family and friends indignantly say "oh, I gotta have 4 seasons".

Well, enjoy the 4th season. :-p

CO2 ... is there anything it can't do?

We're a little sensitive about the witch thing up here in the Boston area -- so we just say "cold as a grave digger's arse".

And yes it is -- we expect it to be sub zero, without the wind chill factor, tomorrow morning.

As Roly says, it will be a bad day for brass monkeys.

We are in the 40s down here, and it feels cold to us. Sort of a wet cold.

Looking pretty damn dismal around here for awhile... I can remember when cold weather didn't bother me a bit... not these days.

My plan is to be out in my driveway prepping and spraying primer on some Camaro body panels tomorrow.

Should be a great day for some progress. ;)

"Colder than a sled dog's d--k" is used at times to convey the coldest grip of winter here, of course it's only used when the womenfolk and toddlers are far from hearing.

Upper teens are the lows and mid twenties the highs currently but it sounds like single digits by the weekend. We have no snow here at sea level, we had 15" in November but it warmed up and rained for 10+ days, just a very heavy frost covering the landscape it's beautiful in the moon light right now.

P.S. There's a reason those dogs are howling!

One hundred miles North of Montreal here... 1200 feet elevation.
We are at -30° C or -19° F. Wind chill making it much colder.

Montreal itself is at -26° C or -15°F at an elevation of 20 feet.

It is cold but we annually see -40° which is the same in both C and F scales. On occasion, we get to -50°C which is -60°F ... and we are not even close to our friend Roly.

Nevertheless, it is cold and the fireplace is doing full time duty.

Wishing one and all a happy cold snap. Many thanks to Siberia for this Polar Vortex event.

Noteworthy... The Old Farmer’s Almanac is right on for its prediction and they say that there will be two more such events this Winter.

Up here in the High Rockies it is warm. Too warm. Headed towards 48 degrees today.

We could use some of that snow.
