There are so many people lining up to claim the moldering corpse of Charles Manson, that authorities are considering either a lottery or some kind of pinata, where the claimants take turns swatting the suspended remains with clubs, while others rush to gather the parts that fall off.

Time is running out to file your ownership claim. In order to have your claim considered, you have to finish the official limerick that begins:

"There once was a Manson named Chuck....."

Battles over bodies are just plain weird.

Who was the famous dead person a while ago whose body was held from burial because people were fighting over corpse?

There once was a Manson named Chuck
The claims on his corpse ran amok
But at the head of the line
Satan yelled that "He's mine!
No dice, you're all sh*t out of luck!"

Humans are superstitious creatures.

Retaining a body like that is a virtual form of the practice of cannibalism.

Leftee, a few years back there was a big brouhaha within the family over the body, more specifically brain, of Ted Williams, arguably the greatest hitter in baseball history. It was very sad. Not sure if that's what you're referring to.

As to the OP: If I didn't hate standing in line I would be all over it.

OK, maybe not.

The Professor wins, hands down .....!

Oh, wait .... the hands just fell off.

"Who was the famous dead person a while ago whose body was held from burial because people were fighting over corpse?"

I believe it was James Brown's corpse that brought about some embarrassing family squabbling.

Kasey Kasem?

I know his wife and his children were at odds over it.

Kasey Kasim was the one I was thinking of. But yes, Ted Williams too.
