'Will & Grace' came back recently. A rehashed 'Roseanne' (yuck) is about to premier soon. Just read of a "Mad About You" revival... All pretty weak, IMO. Guess they've finally run out of ideas.

PS - Why can't we have 'Seinfeld'?

I feel ya'. I watch so little on OTA TV anymore it's hard to keep up with the culture but I heard about the Roseann remake. It's on my must miss list.

You just can't recreate lightning in a bottle. Most shows get canceled for good reason. They ran out of ideas and the story lines got stale if they didn't already lose their audience to begin with. Most sitcoms are just so bad to begin with. Canned laughter and predictable jokes with crappy sexual innuendos are just going for the easy laugh but fail. That is why Seinfeld was heads and shoulders above the rest. Remaking anything rarely ever works.

If they aren't rehashed by theme, they're rehashed with cast. I was watching (and I don't know why) "The Ranch" on Netflix. Its essentially repopulated with "That 70's Show" and "Two and a Half Men" actors. Their hook is a bad laugh track triggered by lots of f-bombs. Sam Eliot can't save it and I swear Debra Winger can't act.

I tried "The Ranch" as well. Wanted to find it funny, but it was like driving past Carl's Jr.
Yeah, the burger fragrance is there, but all it does is prime you for a meal you're not going to get.

Sitcom pet peeve: (aside from the laugh track)
Not letting go once the whole thing is on life support. For instance: amusing when the children are small and growing up. But once they are adults ...... the wheels come off the whole plot line.
The writers try to cover it up with increasingly bizarre plots and a more frenetic pace, but the magic has long since seeped into the weeds.
