I love seeing these old RG clips. Makes me appreciate him more each time I hear him play.

Thanks for sharing!

I’d love to own a CS Rory Strat. I’ve played a few and they are AMAZING!

RG has been a huge influence on me. (not that I can play like him :^)

I have a few of his tunes in my repertoire, two of which I covered on my last CD. (and FTR, I paid all license fees for the privilege)
Also when I say influence, I mean his attitude about playing music not just his guitar playing.

I started playing guitar late in life (at 45) but some interviews with Rory I saw inspired me to go for it.
At the risk of sounding cheesy, it was at a very transitional time in my life and the experience was near spiritual.

Rory is very high on my list of "People I'd Like to Meet".

add: Jerry McAvoy and Rod de'Ath were also a great rhythm section for Rory.

I'm sad to say I never got to see Rory, but I did have the privilege of supporting the Rory "tribute" band, Band of Friends featuring Jerry MacAvoy and Ted McKenna a couple of years ago. They were very good.

Rory is one of my all time favorite guitarists. I was lucky enough to seem him live back in the 70's.

I remember searching for this one Taste album for ages when I was a teen. I finally found it in some record shop, it was like finding the Holy Grail (sans a killer rabbit).

ps - Rory's first well known band was Taste. There are some very cool live videos of Taste on YouTube.

A video of Taste's complete performance at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival was released on BluRay in 2015.

I purchased a Fender Custom Shop RG strat as a retirement gift to myself earlier this year. It is everything that earlier reviews have claimed it to be.

...the most pure and honest guitar player the UK ever produced. His is the only poster I have in my garage. Rory lives in my house.

Got to pat him on the back and mouth "good job" to him, after he came offstage from a scintillating performance at The Rock in Tucson...back in late 1991. He nodded and mouthed "thanks". I had waited to see and hear him since first hearing "What's Going On?" in September 1970. IMO the better of the two guitar players known for their battered brown Strats. And yes, I saw the other at his peak in 1985 and not even close. Not that electric guitar playing is a competition but live Rory had it going ON...that's what's going on.
