LOL @ Peegoo and at Harleyboy :-)

My place would be my man cave/office/2nd bedroom. The room is about 8'x10'. I face an 8' wide glass sliding closet door from about 6' away. The sound seems to bounce off the glass.

It also helps to have another acoustic guitar or 2 in the room in the general direction from where I sit. It probably also helps to have all 3 of my speaker cabinets in the room.

My bedroom. It's rather small but the acoustics are outstanding.

The landing of our stairwell. Bare wall and a tall ceiling.

It looks like I'm busking, sitting on a step. I should put a hat out.

Most of FDP HQ is carpeted and has soft furniture in the various rooms. However, the dining room (something we added on 10-15 years ago) is all hard surfaces with a knotty red birch floor. Sitting in there with an acoustic is crazy good sound.

Back in the Pleistocene when I was in college I used to play my guitar in the stairwell of my 10 story dorm.

If you listen carefully you can still hear the reverb decay today.

I have no extraordinary space that sounds particularly good. My last house was built in the 1890's. The informal dining area, opening up to the kitchen was a grand place to slam the acoustic guitar. Wood floor, high ceiling, a wall full of glass door cupboards. I should have recorded there.

My best sounding room now is virtual and in my DAW.

9' x 5' bathroom. Shower curtain acts as a kind of baffle. It's *just* right.

Definitely the bathroom for me. It's tiled walls and floor gives a nice reverb to the acoustic guitar, and probably more importantly, my vocals. I should record in there sometime.

About 10 years ago I was working at a university. There was a stairwell that had such a reverb; I thought it would be a great place to record the vocal to a remake of Elvis's "Heartbreak Hotel."

The top stair to the 2nd floor at my mom's house had great reverb. Even the cat knew about it; she'd go up there and wail & the whole house knew Jenny needed some loving. :)

They say that as a boy growing up in Georgia, Chet Atkins used to take his Silvertone guitar with him to Mountain Hill School; he liked what the natural reverb of the boys’ bathroom did for the sound of his playing.

"In my house, the stairwell going from the 2nd to the 3rd level. The combination of hard walls and ceiling, combined with the carpeting on the stair treads to cut standing waves, is great for acoustic guitar recording"

yep

Why doesn’t a pedal maker develop a pedal with these popular reverbs?

Bathroom
Stairwell
Dining room

I detect a niche market here.

My living room is best. It has a vaulted ceiling that opens to the hall. My favorite place to play and record.

There are two little music spaces in our home: one is "formal" with the cellos, classical guitars and piano. Maybe 15x10 ft w/ a 9 foot ceiling and hardwood floors. It's a nice room and actually sounds pretty good acoustically but I don't play guitar too much in there because it's central to the house. Has morning light though and great for playing piano before going to work.

The other is a small 8x10ft carpeted space near the attic which is pretty quiet. I have some studio monitors, amps, my electric guitars and recording stuff up there. It is fun to play in that space because I know I can make noise and not be heard by the outside world.

Good idea, but maybe they should add in...

...Scottish underground fuel depot.
