From the 90's, I was going for a 70's ballad kind of thing, Croce and the like.

I like to imagine I hear Randy Meisner doing harmonies in the chorus, hah.

Edit to add:

In the spirit of the Home Recording forum, here is a list of what I used to record.

--------------------------------------------------

Instrumentation

Martin D17M (doubled tracks, panned hard left and right)
Jazz Bass with Duncan Apollo pickups
Strat (just the “crying seagulls” drop)
EZDrummer Nashville Kit
Mellotron (samples)

Mic: Studio Projects TB1 Tube mic (acoustics and vocals), CAD Vocal shield, Six backup parts, 3 part harmony doubled
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface
Pro Tools 10

Plugins:

Sans Amp VST sim for bass amp
Variety of Abbey Road EQ’s
Eleven Black Panel Lux on Strat, plus long delay and verb
BF-76 Compressor on vocal
Variety of Pro Tools resident EQ’s and verb
Softube Tape in master buss

I like it Larry.

I bet once I hear that one a few times it will grow to be one of my favorites of yours. ;)

Old stuff, new stuff ... You've not posted anything yet that is anything short of wonderful to my ear.

Thanks Larry. Appreciate the kind words. I've now remixed this one about a dozen times as I keep finding errors in the minutia. The nice thing about Bandcamp is the ability to replace a track without compromising its url. Haven't found a way to do that with Soundcloud.

Thanks Juice. I think I've finally hit the point of diminished returns on remixing this one, so the take stands. ("yeah right", says Mrs Uch).
