@Steve: You do realize that there are no "Banjo" parts in "Night on Broadway"; and the Bee-Gees are from Australia, so I don't know if wearing "Kilts" would be appropriate??

But if that song makes the "List of Love", I (and "All the Voices" in my head) will vote for it!

**I hope you have the sheet music for it**

**************LOL IS READY**********
First- apologies for the delay in getting this out. I am finally home for the weekend after 3 weeks away
While away I had to use computers that would not allow access to google docs and forms and non work email was a nightmare.
It is 88 songs picked by YOU because this is YOUR jam

I need all of you to:
go to the link
fill out name and email- If you dont do this your votes will NOT count
then simply look at the list, go to the YouTube links if you are not familiar with the song
Click Yes for those you want on the final jam list
easy peasy

I encourage you to go listen to the songs you dont know. there may be ones you might like
Vote for not only songs you want to play on but those you may want to hear

I leave again this Monday and will be back home on the 30th. That's when I will add up the votes and the top 50 make the list
Then I will put it in set order and open it up for you to pick the slots

Any questions just email me

Hey Chickie--Word from Dean Banta, a good drummer who attended the last two DC jams: He's in!

Josh Siegal, a newcomer but a multi-intrument musician and songwriter, will be there. He also plays drums.

Maybe others...

I have asked the Kilted One to spend some time M/C'ing this year. He replied that he's never met a mic he doesn't like. So I expect an Oscar-level opening monologue, or...

Speaking of kilts, my Irish and Scottish roots are in doubt, or disreputable, but I am considering a sartorial trademark. Someone else here used to do capes.

Then there's the "indoor scarf," singer-songwriter style, like Leonard Cohen. Steven Tyler also does scarves. My wife is rolling her eyes...a good sign.

Hey everybody. Song picks are now open for the March on Washington jam on March 11, 2018.

In the first round of picks, you can now request up to FIVE parts in EACH instrument category--guitar, bass, drums, keys, voice, other.

If you're signed up for the jam, check your email for a link to the list. Shoot me a note if you somehow didn't get it.

Have at it, and have fun!

Thank You Andrew; I also noticed additional drummers on the LOL sign up sheet.

Fantastic !!!

I will make sure to have enough additional "Percussion" toys available for all, for group participation.

As we progress on the LOL, I have a couple of suggestions to "kick" up the tempo on a few of the songs, and add some percussion. That will have to be decided by a consensus of the players that signed up for the song.

The voices in my head all agree; He Who Wears Kilts is a good choice for MC.

Looking forward to the JAM

You bet, K9, though you should have gotten it in an email.

I'm getting very optimistic about the jammy goodness in March.

FYI, Round 2 picks will open Monday, 2/5 and Round 3 and then free-for-all will be close behind. We want give everyone a month to practice before the jam.

View song openings here then email tiller2 with your picks

@ Steve: Your piercing comprehension of musical terminology never ceases to astonish me.

My sympathy towards the banjo! (Question: do you wear your Kilts when you practice?)

The voices in my head are calling a meeting to discuss the next round of song picks; they take this very seriously!

See You All Soon

My fellow DC Jammers:

FYI: If anyone is interested, those that have signed up for "Take me to the River" have decided to change the arraignment from the Al Green version to the Talking Heads "Live" version.

Not looking good for me again this year folks. I had been holding off on signing up for songs because I didn't want to commit and then back out.
Hope to be able to see you all in Jersey later this year.

Looks like you guise is haffin way too much fun with this jam. I'm still working on Mrs. Littlehand to let me travel south with me brither Grizbear, to participate, if you'll let me past security. This is a real tough one due to the boy scout father/son camping in Forestburgh, NY the previous weekend. The simple fact is..."happy wife, happy life" has significant meaning to my well being. Since I missed the last Clamfest in my hometown, my hands, big and little, are itching to rock out. Someone please say "hi" to Peegoo for me...oh, I just did, whaddaya know. keep on pickin' FDP brothers and sisters. ;^D

My Fellow DC Jammers

If "Littlehand" (AKA Bigfoot) does grace the Jam, I will ensure that he reads the charts BEFORE he plays. (inside joke from Clamfest)

@Steve: If K-9 can't make it, you will have to substitute "Banjo Solos" to cover. (Remember NO KILTS)

The voices in my head predict that this will be a great jam; they also voted and decided that Mom always liked Littlehand best.

See you all soon !

All systems are go for the jam on Sunday, 3/11. Weather will be sunny on Saturday, cloudy but no precip on Sunday.

The major risk is the TIME CHANGE 2 AM Sunday morning. Change your alarm clock. Setup starts at 10:30 AM, first song at 12:30 PM.
