Small (the smallest) implantable spinal nerve stimulator. $30k plus labor, usually covered by insurance. Limited in use to back-related pain (back/spine, legs, etc.....

I have two friends that have this device (it's like an internal TENS unit) installed.

They both say it works great, however: just like with drugs, the electrical stimulation is addictive and the body develops a tolerance for it.

This means that if you leave it cranked up to its highest setting, it loses effectiveness over time.

My stepfather is mid process for getting one of these - I think they’ll be doing the device implant soon.

My wife had one of these devices . It worked well for about two years then gradually due to nerve growth the doctors said it stopped being effective at all. It worked great for that time but it was not a permanent solution for her.

Tried it in physical therapy, dosen't work for me.

No way am I gonna let them implant something
