Funny you should ask this today...
my short cynical answer would be... nothing!
But let me explain.
I played one at a local shop yesterday and was *very* underwhelmed.
It was the 18/30 model (2x12). I wasn't there to try amps but a pedal. A Boss BD-2 Blues Driver.
I found it to be extremely bright sounding no matter what I did with the EQ. I did get an OK tone out of the 18w side despite having a single tone control (vs BMT on the 30w side) but it didn't make me go "wow".
The thing I found most interesting was the 30w side *did not* like the Blues Driver! Very weird.
Also the lack of an FX loop or reverb doesn't do it for me. A while back I tried one of the 15w combos (which has both btw) and liked it, so I was expecting the 18/30 to the same but "bigger".
Nuh...
I know there is at least one member that owns one of the models, but don't recall who. Hopefully they will post here and share their experience.
I won't be running out to buy one any time soon. Especially at an average of around 1500AUD!

What?Dec 6th, 2017 09:47 AM Edit Profile
I haven't played any of these....
My brief understanding of this Fender line of amps is Fender has taken what Marshall did to the Tweed Bassman amp and made their own modification of this style.

Hi!
Can anyone actually LISTEN to any of these vids?
I mean, I don´t think it´s the fact that he does´t play THAT good - but he seriously needs someone to properly edit his stuff.
If you have the skills I URGE you to get in touch with the guy ;-)
cheers - C.
P.S.: As for the Bassbreaker-Amps - yeah, I think it´s Fender´s "revenge" ;-)
P.P.S.: I know a pro-player who was really excited about the 7-watt-head + cab in terms of tone, but he quit using the amp on tour as it didn´t hold up so well in terms of reliability...

My impression is that they’re pricey for what they are. And they aren’t much. I don’t see this line lasting long.

When they first popped onto the scene, they were a hot topic and they got pretty good reviews. But I chalk that up to it being a new thing at the time.
I've yet to see anyone gigging with one.

I heard these amps have some noise issues to boot.

I have the 18/30 and love it. If you take time with it you can get some wonderful sounds from it. The 18W side breaks up nicely and the 30w side can be very Vox like. I gig with it a lot !

I have the Bassbreaker 15 and it is a killer little Marshall in drag.

The Bassbreaker 45 was a dog of an amp. Bought it used in mint condition and returned in less than 24 hours. Sounded like a sterile Hot Rod Deluxe with no reverb. Absolutely dreadful amp! Fought my pedal board like a kid not what to eat his/her veggies..
I was aghast on how bad that amp was. Very perplexed because the Internet vids make it sound awesome.
Played a BB15 IMO nothing but a Blues Jr with three gain selections.
I don't see the Bassbreakers being around long because Fender has many other established amps at those price ranges that sound just like them or better...

I bought the Bassbreaker 45 head. I like the variable wattage 1 watt to 40 watts. Other than that I have been unable to get the "sound" I want so it collects dust.

I finally figured out the issue. Not to offend anyone, but, I am not a fan of the "British Sound"
I am a "Fender Sound" fan. So change the power tubes from EL34 to EH brand 6CA7 Beam Pentode & rebiased the amp. Now a really like the sound of the amp. The Bassbreaker 45 sounds a lot more Fenderish now, more like a Bassman

Hi guys!
Funny that this thread popped up right now ;-)
I recently got me a Bassbreaker 007-combo - and I'm very happy with it! Possibly the best "Champ-type" amp I've had - and I had a few ;-)
Sounds good low or LOUD, clean or overdriven. The 3-band-EQ and treble-boost make it a versatile amp.
I mostly play it at home, but I took it to jam-sessions (with bass, drums, keys etc.) and it fared well!
I recommend it!
cheers - C.
