I own four pedals on that list.

I take their numbers with a grain of salt; it's a particular subset of the market, not representative of the overall.

I own a Fulltone OCD V1 Series 4, sold an EH Soul Food at one time (it didn't rock my world) and have considered buying a Ditto X2 Looper.

The only ones on any of those lists I have are the Hall of Fame and the Carbon Copy.

Neither of those were bought this year (both around 2012 or 13 I think) and both have survived a number of culls since their purchase.

I have a bunch of the TC pedals (Ditto, HOF, PolyTune 2 mini, Flashback). Somewhere in the back of my mind I consider moving one or two of them on from time to time but when I'm actually playing music, they do what I need so they stay. Great pedals.

I never knew EHX would be so prominent a builder. I thought of them as good sounding but ultimately unreliable and prone to problems, and not at all in teh same league as Boss, TC, MXR. Am I way off base here?

They're not as prominent.

Peculiarity of the market.

Reverb is overrun mostly by the hipster kids (look at the prices of 70s Japanese driftwood)...and the pedals even moreso.

I bought the Ditto when it first came out and I´ve used it almost every day since!
It made playing at home much more fun, and I´m sure it helped me to become a better player ;-)

I can also attest for #2 on the list (Carbon Copy) - a very nice Delay imo.

Hey DrKev!

"...Am I way off base here?"

I´d say, err, no ;-)

In my estimation, I would say the fact that you see the best sellers also on the used list, is that the ranks of musicians are a fluky lot that is prone to whimsical purchases; always searching for the next best thing. Often we succumb to these impulses thinking that the next purchase will net us the ultimate solution for tone. When in fact no such universal solution exists. Hence we flip stuff to move on to the next perceived solution. And once again are disappointed.

Personally, I don't own any of them. Still using my Turbo Tuner and my old Fulltone Fulldrive-2.

I've had a Carbon Copy on my board since they first hit the market.

I bought a DS-1 used several years ago and attempted to mod it. It never worked after that. lol!

I've got a few from the list. Two DS-1s, a Flashback, a Soul Food, and a Big Sky. I'm amazed at the value the Big Sky has kept but they were in short supply when I bought mine. I still don't plan on selling it.

I never use the Soul Food and would sell it, but the others are either invaluable or not valuable enough (har!).

I have a Carbon Copy, Ditto and OCD 1.4. So far, I`d say they are all keepers.

The only one that I bought and sold (used) from the list is a TS9. It's a cool list, I just chose other flavors than these.

I've bought in the last 20 years, #1, #2, #8, #10, #14, #15, #18 and I still own them all. The Ibanez TS9 was the 1st pedal I bought, the HOF Reverb, the last.

The Polytune is on my board permanently.

I have some of the other pedals including the XP Conpressor, OCD and TS9. There not permanently on the board but do get used.

I don't think in terms of a permanent 'holy grail' set up. A while back I read how Leo Fender thought of the entire signal chain. I think he was spot on.

I keep the pedal board with interchangeable slots depending upon the guitar and amp.

But overall that list reflects a reality. Those pedals are popular because they are basically good solid pedals that work in a lot of applications.

That OCD V1 never sounds bad. I can say that with certainty.

the only one of the pedals listed that I "owned" was the Holy Grail Reverb...

it had some decent sounds to it but was too noisy...now someone else owns it...

I've thought about getting another reverb pedal...not sure which one yet

Interesting list. I own none of the pedals on any of those lists.

I've never been a big pedal junky. I tend to hang on to them and they find their way back onto my board somehow. I may own 12-14 of them in total with 5 on the board at a time.

The only pedals I can remember selling where some Arion boxes I had in the mid 80s.
