This is incredible....I'm floored. Voyager 1 continues to respond to commands:

Course adjustment.....37 years later!

Before long the “oya” will be obscured and it will start calling itself “veeger.”

I saw it in a documentary.

Leftee, I saw that same documentary.
As I recall it involved Captain James T Kirk, a know it all Vulcan, a fumbling engineer called Scotty, and a flamboyant bridge officer who would eventually become a lovable "rear admiral".

...at least until Nomad shows up.

"M...must... Sterilize!"

But seriously, folks--
That is a testament to the people who designed and built the spacecraft. Still responding to commands? Amazing.

Why couldn't they get some one that can speak clearly to narrate that? Was that a computer generated voice?

All kidding aside ..... an amazing spacecraft.

On my dining room wall is a picture of Earth taken by Voyager from 4 billion miles away, as the "little craft that could" bid farewell to our solar system.

That is almost beyond belief. I have a car nearly that old and it only selectively responds to commands to start.

Well done NASA.

13 billion miles and 40 years later....

...that really is amazing.

Especially when you consider the technology that's on board.
Very cool.
