Very cool, Eric! Nice to see that guitar come back to life in a new way!

Looking forward to seeing what you do to the Tele!

Did someone say Green Strat?

FWIW - shooting the color green is somehow tricky. The PG is actually a bit deeper green than the image shows.

There is one thing yet to be decided on the Tele. That being the neck pickup. I might leave the DiMarzio Area 58(?) in it. Dunno...

It will probably be the first weekend of the new year before I have that guitar done.

The knobs on the Strat may not stay. I'll see when the ones I intended to go on the guitar show up tomorrow.

You've got a Tele switch tip on there, why not gold Tele knobs?

I got the green Strat setup up and played it last night. I installed gold barrel knobs with abalone tops. Those are the ones. I added a couple pics in the album.

This guitar sounds excellent! It is different from the other double fat Strat (MIM) I have. As I described above, that just has a volume control for each pickup and a 3 way switch - no tone controls. It is a brighter sounding guitar reminiscent of the hard rock guitar of the '80s.

This guitar is more of a snarly midrange tone akin to a Les Paul.

That was my mission with this project. Two distinct flavors of 25.5" scale humbucker crunchiness.

I'll let the guitar settle and tweak the setup some more.

That turned out great. The gold knobs made a big difference.

The Tele is coming along. It should be done by the end of this coming week.

I've having the toughest time with this Tele. Specifically, finding parts.

Yeah, that way you can use what you really want.

Hopefully the string holes line up, though.

I’d even make it a top loader.

I did an experiment once where I made a top loader and string-through. On that guitar it didn’t make a difference in the tone that I could hear. It was a lot of work for nothing.
