My wife and I are traveling to Nashville in December. Anyone know a source for finding out what bands/artists are playing in different clubs and venues?

ps - There's nothing at the Ryman or Grande Ole Opry we want to see that week.

Note - I prefer outlaw country, alt country and Americana.

Here's a start:

https://www.nashvillescene.com/

Also check the venue calendars for any other venues you might be interested in.

For the genre's you list I might suggest The Family Wash.

Closer to your trip check out Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge, which is a bit off the beaten path north of town in Madison.
It has a cool vibe and seems to be The Place lately for your kind of country. I just checked and they still have September's listings up, so website updates do not seem to be a high priority.

If you're staying near Opryland and enjoy country artists check out the Nashville Palace. I believe Randy Travers got his start there working as a cook and performing.

Vince Gill and Amy Grant are doing a Christmas show at the Ryman when we're there, but the prices are too high. We like Vince Gill, but not THAT much.

I bet Don Kelley Band is still playing at that one store in Nashville, I'd like to see his band and latest Tele wrangler.

Try and catch Mike Henderson at The Bluebird, he's a hoot!

I would try to go to the Bluebird for sure. They always have something going on.

Love Mike Henderson, and the Bird, BUT---I no longer even try to go to the Bluebird. Last time some visitors requested that we drove by four hours before the door opened and there was a line down the block. Way more people in line than seats in that little venue, so unless this is a bucket list thing, don't plan on the Bluebird. And if it is a bucket list thing, then plan on getting there very early, and I sure hope that it's worth the wait!

Wow, sorry to hear that. Last I went was in 2013 and it was fine (though I had gotten tickets in advance).

There is an app for your phone you might try, called Timbre. I use it occasionally, and it usually shows more info than I want to see, so it's pretty thorough. It's free (or I wouldn't have it!).

"We like Vince Gill, but not THAT much."

Are The Time Jumpers (with Vince Gill) still doing their weekly thing at Third and Lindsley?

That would be the first thing I'd check if I were headed to Nashville.

Yes, Robert's Western World for Don Kelly and his band.
Enjoy a fried bologna sandwich at the bar like I did!

I can highly recommend J P Harris and the Tough Choices.

Looks like only one Nashville gig in December though.
