Full disclosure first .... I am somewhat of a Luddite when it comes to today's digital miracles. For instance, I use about 3 percent of the buttons on my mega-multi function TV remote, and need my grandson to update my iPhone.

But here's the thing. Facebook has announced "the solution" to revenge porn (I've been told this is where the dumped ex-boyfriend, etc, uploads nude photos of his girlfriend, fiance, etc to embarrass her). Could go the other way, too, but you know how fragile guys' egos are ....

The FB solution to this vexing problem is for the woman to upload all the nudie photos taken of her FIRST. And then FB works its digital magic and the pics are guaranteed to never appear in public, because they've been hash tagged or something (I don't have FB either)

Remember all the assurances we've received in the past about unassailable accounts, complete with icons of padlocks and snarling guard dogs?
Only to find our info/credit card numbers effortlessly stolen anyway?

This FB solution seems to me like preventing a flat tire by immediately driving over a spike strip, so that the next time the tire encounters a nail, it will ignore it.

Of course, one obvious flaw in the Facebook solution is that Evil Boyfriend could upload the photos to his own website, and then post the link.

My grandmother had a piece of advice for all those young lovers in her day, who might be tempted to write racy letters that could some day be used by scorned lovers to embarrass or blackmail:

"Say it with mink, but never in ink".

Sounds crazy to me. Those things are going to pop up somewhere!

What is it with some women? You put a camera on them and the cloths start coming off? I've encountered a few. It's a behavior I don't understand and I don't see in men. Well maybe not, sexting is a "thing" these days with the youth.

Reminds me of the song "Centerfold" by The J. Geils Band.

I don't understand the revenge photo mentality but that's just me I guess.

The Facebook generation can't comprehend how easy they have it.

Back in our day, if we -- somehow -- managed to find a babe who would agree to nude pics, we had to drive halfway across the state to get the film developed because we knew the pervert in the Fotomat in town would make copies for himself and hand them out to his friends. We'd be busted in no time.

Of course, there was Polaroid. But the film was so expensive that it cut into our beer and gas money. There was only so much we were willing to suffer for our art.

But anyway, I expect that it has been chaos at Facebook HR lately -- they probably have about twenty thousand applications to fill the job of "processing" all the uploads of nude pics.

It's utterly ridiculous. The premise is that they take a "hash" of the picture file, which I suppose could be loosely described as a digital fingerprint of the file. Then, if anyone tries to upload a picture with the same hash, they will block it.

That's all well and good, but if any change is made to the file, as small as just altering one pixel, the hash will be ***entirely different***, and the altered image will slip the filters without any hesitation.

It sounds like someone just wants a bunch of free nudie pics.

Many women want to be objectified on their own terms.

And guys are stupid.

Never post anything online that you don't want the rest of the world to see.

The very hottest of our local weather girls broke up with her boyfriend. He posted some red hot pics of her and she lost her job. I'll have to admit, she was as hot a babe as I've ever seen and the pics were even hotter.
