I’m a bass player and as such use minimal effects.

I recently switched from a small three pedal Boss case to a Tech21 Bass Fly Rig, and am loving it so far. The only issue is how to protect and transport it - the size and shape is awkward, and the factory packaging (basically a long unhinged tin Altoids box) isn’t going to last very long.

I found a company that was advertising soft cases for the various Fly Rigs and other effects, but they seem to be out of business.

Does anyone have suggestions for a source of custom soft cases for small multieffects pedals? I’m not skilled enough to roll my own.

Thanks!

Take it to a thrift store.

Looks like it's smaller than most laptop cases.

See if it fits in one or a briefcase on the cheap

I have the guitar Fly Rig.

I carry it in a small padded Dell laptop bag. There's room in there for the power supply, cables, picks, tuner, capo, extra strings, tools, and other stuff too. Lightweight, easy to carry, and it takes up very little room.

Check out the EX Stompbox - it's a metal base & soft carrying bag w/straps, velcro & tiewraps. 46 bucks shipped on Amazon.

I bought a mini flight-style case (CNB 410F) for 50 bucks. Neither come with a power supply, not sure if your unit will fit in either. What are the dimensions?

It's a lot smaller than it looks - 12.5” long x 2.5” deep x 1.25” thick, and ten it has a wall wart besides. It swims in a laptop bag, that's the first thing I tried. I looked at pencil bags, but they're not long enough.

The size of the "ENO Ex Stompbox Guitar Effects Pedalboard Mini" on Amazon looks like it would work great, but the description and pics don't mention a soft case. Is this the one?

Oooh, just saw an old post on another forum that suggested a flute bag. I'll look at those, too - but I'm warming to the idea of attaching it to a small pedalboard, it's light enough that it could use some anchoring.

HD - I did a DIY for my FlyRig. Basically a mini pedalboard with case.

I wanted it on a board so could mount a tuner and my power supply to it.
It was 1/2" plywood (spray painted black of course). One side covered with black marine carpet to stick velcro to and 4 screw-on rubber feet.

I sized it so it would fit into a (inexpensive) aluminium tool case that I'm sure you can get at any electronics/hobby shop, or auto parts/tools store. I did put some foam in the case for added protection.

It doesn't require much skill, just common sense and a couple of bucks :^)

a case like this

Pelican has a system for some of it's cases that allows you to customize the layout. I really like it. It comes with a cutting device that works really well.

Linked is a photo of my Pelican setup for my camera stuff.

Edit to add. It looks like Pelican discontinued their Trek pack dividers.

Amazon still has cases with these dividers, but I don't know if extra dividers will be available.

Good suggestions, all!

I’ve decided to go with one of the mini boards with bag - I’m missing my PolyTune, and one of the 14”ers will be perfect.

There are several places that make custom cases or sell the raw materials for road cases such as extrusions, corners, hinges, handles, latches, casters and panels that enable you to make your own. Google 'diy road case' for examples.

I have a fairly regular pedal board and I carry it in an old tweed suitcase from the 50's.

This is much smaller, though - that’s the challenge.
