"New Guitar Order Day"

I just pulled the trigger a couple hours ago on the PRS SE Custom 24 lefty in the Trampas Green.

Sweetwater had 4 of them to choose from in that color... I've liked that color since I saw it, and after looking at the other three colors, it still was my favorite (the Whale Blue is nice, too). I chose the lightest one - but I also liked the wood on it best (both front and back).

I do wish these had either a 5-way switch like some of the USA models, or had separate single coil taps (one on the volume control, one on the tone); sometimes those extra "mixed" tones are more interesting than the straight single coil and humbucker tones.

The only thing I'm really not crazy about is the unfinished maple headstock, but that's really minor - I do like being able to see the mahogany back (versus the others that are all either tinted or black).

The guitar will arrive Monday... so a review will be coming soon!

Great Mikey,

cant wait to hear what you think of it.

the trampas green is the best colour of the lot.

if i didn't just pre-order a lefty gibson double cut in tv yellow i might've jumped on one of these.

"Very nice! Congrats! Looking forward to your review."

Of course you are, Eric! You're thinking you'll probably be able to buy it from me in about a year at a nice "used" price!

One of these (in this color) would look pretty nice sitting next to the SE (fortunately, I don't need another Tele for sure!):

Is this also "Trampas Green"? (Oops: "Blue Jean Wash"!)

Cool! 'Trampas Green' sounds like a great worship guitar color.

Heh, heh...

Yeah, Leftee and I have had a couple gear transactions as well - always a very satisfied "customer," - hope he was, too.

Well, rats. Now the guitar won't be here till Tuesday. I had to call them and confirm my address since I've moved since I last made a purchase from them - they wanted to make sure it wasn't a bogus sale.

And, they said Fed-Ex only delivers Tuesday - Saturday, so it wouldn't have been arriving on Monday anyway, even though that's what I was originally quoted. ???

Tick, tock, tick, tock...

What did I sell you Richard? I forget.

I miss the SG, Mike.

I remember the Godin. It’s long gone.

Leftee, it was a green Strat Squier that you drop shipped to my cousin’s daughter in New Orleans. She loves it.

Yeah, the Strat you traded me for the SG is long gone, too - don't miss it, as I have my "custom" Warmoth Strats; really hard to top those.

One has an old set of American Standard pups in it that sounds just fantastic; another has the set of Rumpels you (Eric) sold me - also fantastic in a different way, and the third has a set of Bill Lawrence noiseless pickups that sound very good, and serve a different purpose (being noiseless for certain situations).

UPDATE:

Got an e-mail confirmation last night of my order - this says the guitar will arrive TOMORROW, Nov. 11th!!! I'll keep tracking to confirm that, but this is very cool; I'll have more time to check it out than I would on Tuesday...

Keep y'all posted...
