Right now, no particular container, but for a dozen or so I’d probably use a plastic pill box. A little plastic baggie works well (1.5x2.5 in., or so).

I like to side mine under the lower edge of the pick guards of my guitars. I loosen up a screw just enough to hold one or two there. I also throw a few in each case where the extra pack of strings are kept.

A few seem to find their way into the spare change bowl, or on a window sill, or find a home between the cushions of the couch I do most of my best noodling on. If I'm going some place to play I put a couple in the handy little change pocket in my pants. Most of those I'll find in the washer or dryer the next week and put them back in the spare change bowl.

Always one in my pocket wedged between the blades of my pocket knife. Then one of the little pick holders in the pocket of every case.

Something like this

I have an original Hushnel pick wallet that was hand-presented to me by the originator, but being an old finger pickin' bass player it don't go on the gig too often so the Hushnel pick wallet is reserved for those special items I don't want to lose.

I bought a narrow cylindrical shaped ebony box in Africa years ago and could never figure out a use for it, till I realized that it could hold guitar pics in my music room.

It's like grass seed-throw enough around and you're bound to find one when you need it. Stop this talk of buying picks in small quantities. Start at a gross and move on from there.

A gross in the desk drawer in a bag, half dozen on the desk/mixing board, a few on the pedalboard!

Really? No one said they keep them in their pickpocket?

Yes, that little pocket inside the righthand pocket of me jeans, Chris, usually has one or three plectrums. I retrieve them from the washing machine all the time.

It's not just good..

"Come to think of it, an actual altoid box would probably work pretty well also."

I have about 10 Altoid tins, both the large and the small ones. They each have various collections of picks, allen wrenches, and Grolsch "strap locks" in them.
Some are in guitar cases, some are scattered around the apartment.

I even screwed one onto each of my pedal boards! (the small tins work best for this)

"Really? No one said they keep them in their pickpocket?"

HA! Oh yeah, I have a few with me, right now.
Always do. (;^D)

Why, in my pick cabinet, of course. This one is just for flat picks, there's another one for thumbpicks.

While I do have them strewn about everywhere, I do keep a stash in a little hexagonal malachite box I gave to my wife as a gift some decades ago. She never put anything in it so what was I to do?

On top of my amp. It's a Fender 73 tortise shell that I've been using since 1972. It's one of a kind.

I always have a couple in my left front jeans pocket, and there's a small plastic Tupperware container on my dresser. Then in my music room there's another container of the type of picks I use most often.

Smith, Wesson and me.

I keep a few in a drawer next to the TV which is near my OM16 which is on a guitar stand. The rest are in my bedroom nite stand.

I usually play with my fingers though so I'm not too picky. (Punny huh?)
