...Hopalong Cassidy, here he comes.

(humming)

There he goes, on his way,
Down the trail the cowboy way.
Hopalong Cassidy, Hopalong Cassidy.

He returns, soon again,
There's no use to say goodbye until then.

Hopalong Cassidy, so long Hopalong."

HEY! Hoppy is BACK, baby! Nice prints on Amazon Prime. Kind of a kick. I hadn't seen Hoppy since I was 5 or 6 years old. Bonus is Andy Clyde as "California" (one of his sidekicks). Andy Clyde later played "George McMichael", Amos McCoy (Walter Brennan)'s cantankerous neighbor and checkers opponent on "The Real McCoys" TV show back in the late 50s/early 60s (?).

A great TV hero of a very young me. One of the best Christmas presents I ever got from Santa was a Hopalong Cassidy two-gun & holster set.

I feel so young.

I have no recollection of this at all.

"TV" Tommy Ivo (of 1960s drag racing fame) and George "Commando Cody" Wallace also show up in one episode or another.

"Showboat":

My first watch was a Hopalong Cassidy one. I must have been about 5.

Way, way back in the dark ages, I saw Hopalong in a town parade in NJ. A big thrill to see him up on that big white horse and two six shooters.

A few years later, got to shake hands with Roy Rogers at his Rodeo at Madison Square Garden.

Then, many years later, I met Clayton Moore in Milwaukee. He was in full Lone Ranger regalia, except for the sunglasses instead of the mask. CBS would not permit him to wear it.

Back in the day I sent in a post card to the Commando Cody show because they used to pick a post card and offer a prize.

We were living in St Pete FL at the time and while watching the show the phone rang and it was for me.

I recall them asking a few questions about the show and then sent me this huge space vehicle that had wind up rimed propeller deals that launched one right into the eggs mom was making and also had some other rocket deal.
