Thanks, all.

My pride is hurt more than anything (so far as I can tell).

Lucky I don't take that all that seriously...

Werner ladders used to be made just down the road from here up until they went belly up.

Keep climbing ladders until you can’t.

Glad you weren’t seriously hurt.

The moment I read the title I thought to myself that your surfer reflexes surely must have kicked in. And they did!

Glad it wasn't really bad. Heal well and get back out there!

I need to clean the dryer vent once a year. I set up my aluminum A-frame ladder on a level surface and go up about 5 steps. I can hang onto the gutter for stabilization. If I start to fall, I can also grab the gutter and hang on.....until someone finds me :-).

Well, on the bright side, the bruise on my butt has inspired a new metal band name: "Ass-Knot".

Kinda catchy, doncha think?

Glad it wasn't more serious and you are OK.

My balance/coordination has never been good for climbing stuff. I don't even like those tiny winding staircases like they have on boats.

Went and got some x-rays, just to make sure there are no hairline fractures. Initial evaluation is that there are not. The more I think about it, the more I marvel at not having sustained significant injuries.

The fact that I'm in good physical shape and am not carrying any extra weight probably didn't hurt any.

Maybe it's an omen that I should go buy a lottery ticket...

Certainly didn't hurt. Not that people who fall from an 8 foot ladder who are in good shape can't get hurt. It's about the angle of the impact as much as the force of the fall.

LMAO at Peegoos links!!! The first one could have been Taildragger...?

Glad you're ok, T-D! I'm quite sure I would have had more serious results, I'm not as athletic as you apparently are.

Still kinda stiff and sore, but got back up onto the second-story scaffold to try to get my painting done before the rains come.

Must admit that I don't like being up there too much after my fall, but that's probably a GOOD thing: it's when you get TOO comfortable that you let your guard down and get careless.

Looking down from up there, it did really sink in that had I fallen from that high scaffold instead of just from the ladder, that would very likely have been all she wrote, Jack.

"Get back on the horse that threw ya", "finish what ya started" and all that. But when this project is done, I don't plan on doing stuff like it again. By the next time the house needs paint, I'll be too damn old for this sort of thing for sure (assuming I even live so long).
