FDP Forum / FDP Unplugged - Acoustic Instruments / Fender DG-11 SB acoustic - year?

My son just purchased a used Fender DG-11 acoustic from another kid at school and, just for our records, I'd like to figure out what year it was made (if possible). I checked the Fender serial number page and they skipped the DG-11 in the DG series. The serial number is 03031197.

Any ideas?

Call or email Fender customer service. If I were trying to break the code on that number I would say it was built the third month of 2003 but I have no knowledge of Fender acoustic ser. #s.

I would have thought that too, but the page that I linked to before seems to implay that all of the DG series was made between 1995 and 1999, and the more general page below seems to imply that 8 digit serial numbers were generally used between 1988-1996.

But contacting CS is a good idea, I'll drop them a line to see what they say and will report back.

How can I find out when my Korean-made instrument was manufactured?

Yes sorry, I thought I posted it but see that I didn't. You were correct, it's 2003.
